Minor surface wear consistent with age. No cracks or repairs.

Diego Giacometti built furniture in the Paris studio he shared with his brother Alberto, who filled the same rooms with sculpture. He became known as a master of patina for the greens and bronzes he drew out of metal, surfaces made to read as aged the moment they left his hand. His final commission was a full suite of furniture and lighting for the Musée Picasso, finished the year he died.

This table was built in that tradition, in the workshops of Paris and Los Angeles where his methods carried on after him. The maker's name went unrecorded, as it often does with this work. What remains is the evidence: a hand-shaped verdigris base beneath a beveled glass top, the patina settling exactly as the technique intends.

https://www.sojournvintage.com/products/green-verdigris-glass-coffee-table-in-the-manner-of-diego-giacometti
