The legs are sculpted rather than turned, the two woods chosen against each other for contrast, and the built-in cup holders make the argument of the entire movement in a single detail: an object can be sculptural and still be used.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe maker's name went unrecorded, and the signature left on this piece was never written down.
